A new 17-story condo tower on Bayshore Boulevard is officially taking contracts for its residences, each of which occupy an entire floor.

Smith & Associates Real Estate of Tampa is the listing agent for The Sanctuary at Alexandra Place, which will be built at 2619 Bayshore Blvd. Taub Entities of Tampa paid $5 million for the .86-acre property in mid-January.

“Creating a tower like this is a game-changer for the luxury market in Tampa,” Bob Glaser, president and CEO of Smith & Associates, said in a statement.

The existing single-family home on the site has been vacated and will be demolished soon, Taub said.

The architect on the tower is Tim Clemmons of Place Architecture, who also designed Taub’s Bliss condo tower in downtown St. Petersburg.

There are 15 units in The Sanctuary; the penthouse occupies the top two floors. Units are priced from $2.3 million to more than $4.8 million. Each level, Taub said, has a single-family floor plan, with no shared walls or hallways.

The developers say the tower will be the first in the U.S. to use a “frameless glass wall system” to maximize views of Bayshore Boulevard.

“From the onset, we envisioned a luxury condominium for a homeowner who wants the privacy of a single-family home and all of the conveniences and amenities that a luxury tower has to offer,” Debbie Taub of Taub Entities said in a statement.
